The United Kingdom

Britain has a сool temperate humid (maritime) climate . The Gulf Stream ensures mild, maritime influenced climate.

Features of this climate are:

marine influences are predominant, and can influence areas far inland.

the weather can be extremely changeable and variable. Especially in fall there are gales and uncomfortable weather with heavy rain, showers or even thunderstorms.

winters are mild, the oceans effect is marked . The coldest months are December, January and February, when the temperature is usually between 3 and 6°C.

summers are warm, 13° to 18°C is common in July (the oceans can cool summer temperatures too).

drought conditions are rare;

rain occurs throughout the year;

They say that England is famous for its rain and the lush green of its countryside. Average annual rainfall in the north is more than 1,600 mm, but central and southern England receive an average of less than 800 mm.

Snow is not very common in London (expect snow to settle on the ground maybe two or three days during the year). It is more common away from the cities and coasts and in particular on higher land and further north.

In the Scottish Highlands snow is common between December and February - this area has the only ski resort in the UK, at a place called Aviemore.
